  • Importance of Humor on the Road to Enlightenment

Posted on October 28th, 2008 in Spiritual Enlightenment by Anmol Mehta

Role of Humor on the Spiritual Journey

A few weeks ago I was sitting out on my deck and enjoying what I call holistic vision.  Which is when you don’t focus on any one object, but instead take in the whole scenery together, using an unfocused, steady gaze.  Being aware of the space between the objects magnifies the effect of this way of looking and it a meditation all on it’s own (meditation detailed in Brain Development & Enlightenment Part I).

Spiritual Growth - The Zen Way

Spiritual Test - The Zen Way

To approach something as complex as life it is important to keep things simple.  Zen Teacher Joko Beck does exactly that in how she describes what Zen considers to be spiritual living, spiritual growth and spiritual tests.

Below you will find an excerpt from her excellent book, Everyday Zen, which I think clearly explains how to gauge and grow your spirituality.

Yoga Ab Exercises to Shape Stomach

    Yoga Ab Workout

Previously on Mastery of Meditation & Yoga, I had provided the powerful Core Abdominal Power Yoga Set to help you tone and build your abdominal muscles, but when it comes to strengthening and toning muscles it is good to hit the same muscle group with a variety of exercises and workouts.  This is simply because muscles adapt to certain exercises over time, and so targeting them with new workouts is needed to help stimulate their development.

Yoga Survey Results: Females Edge Out Males Regarding Yoga Practice

Posted on October 15th, 2008 in Surveys by Anmol Mehta

Do Women or Men Practice Yoga More?

A last second surge of female votes allowed them to just edge out the men when it came to the question of who practices yoga more, men or women.

The common understanding that yoga is mostly practiced by women was under serious threat for most of the time this survey was running and in fact at one time the men had a comfortable double digit lead as well.  But, it did not hold up as we came down the stretch and finally the women won the survey by a meager 2 votes.

    Jiddu Krishnamurti Speaks on Sensitivity

Sensitivity - The Heart of Spiritual Living

There are many profound and creative ways to describe the spiritual path and a spiritual life, but none capture the essence of spiritual living more precisely or succinctly than the following single word - Sensitivity.  The spiritual life can simply be called the sensitive life.  The following excerpt from J. Krishnamurti does a very thorough treatment of this topic and below I would like to share these thoughts of his with you.

    Best Self-Help Articles

A recent Personal Development article I wrote, 10 Keys for Turning Ideas Into Reality, was very well received by the readers of Mastery of Meditation and also, by the public at large.  It literally caught fire on StumbleUpon and has been viewed more that 4,000 times in just the last day or so.  Many of my friends who don’t necessarily practice yoga and meditation (yet ), enjoyed this article quite a bit and requested that I provide more of my thoughts in this arena of self improvement, self-help and manifestation.
