Personal Development
Aparna presents Self esteem-Why is it so important? posted at Beauty and Personality Grooming, saying, "Go and stand in front of a mirror. What kind of image do you see? Do you see yourself as a confident, healthy, pleasing person? Do you love yourself? Do you accept yourself fully with all your plus and minus points? Are you happy with your self image? If you are not, it means you do not have adequate self-esteem (self-respect). Besides good health and other basic needs of life, self-esteem is a requisite to keep you happy. Self-esteem is also important for maintaining good mental health. It is one of the major ingredients in the formula for success. When self-esteem is very low, it is difficult for you to achieve success. This is because you waste a lot of time worrying about what people think of you, worrying about your real or imaginary weaknesses, the mistakes committed in the past and what future has in store for you"
Chris Edgar presents What To Do When Affirmations "Don’t Work" posted at Purpose Power Coaching, saying, "Sometimes, when we say an affirmation, we don’t get the inspired feeling we’re looking for — instead, we feel angry or despondent. This is the kind of experience that often leads people to think that affirmations “don’t work.” In this article, I’m going to talk about the reasons we may find ourselves “rejecting” the affirmations we use, and how we can reframe our affirmations to find the encouragement and empowerment we’re looking for."

Why not try something different - something with a more uplifting connotation? For example, make your resolution for the year along the lines of: "I am making positive changes in 2009." "I am developing multiple streams of income." "I am healthy and fit this year." Focus on that as the big picture for the year, then get started on some specific goals and objectives, seeing yourself actually having accomplished those goals. Really, how many people quit smoking, lose 20 pounds or make a million dollars because of a New Year’s resolution?"
Spiritual Growth

Ray Burton presents Does The Law of Attraction Actually Work? posted at Raymond L. Burton - The Happy Soul, saying, "How does this Law Of Attraction all work? Actually, does it even work? Nice collection of stories! I’d like to recommend another great book, “The Attraction Distraction,” by Sonia Miller. It talks about why the law of attraction isn’t working and how to get results. You could be sabotaging yourself and not even know it! So many people have been helped by this book (including me), as you can see by the “law of attraction” testimonials in it. This book kind of puts it all together.
