Recently I launched the new mantras series, in which I bring you the greatest and most powerful mantras to help you with your spiritual growth and life evolution. The first of these great mantras was of course, the Gayatri Mantra, considered the most powerful mantra from the Hindu Vedas. Today I want to present to you another mantra which is of almost equal stature as the Gayatri Mantra, and is considered no less powerful. It is the timeless and profound Mahamritunjay Mantra (Maha Mritunjay). The mantra devoted to Lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva is known as the Lord of Yoga, Lord of all Three Worlds (Bhuh, Bhuvah & Svahah) and he is also considered the Lord for those who are Jyana (Gyan) Yogis, or those who follow the yogic path of Insight & Intelligence. This particular view of the One Lord, serves as a motivating and encouraging source for those who practice Yoga and Jyana Yoga in particular. Lord Shiva is symbolically known as the Destroyer, and that which he destroys is of course ignorance (Avidya) and attachment to the false sense of separate self. My love for Lord Shiva is obvious in the fact that my son is named Shivum 
.
The Mahamritunjay Mantra is a prayer in praise of Lord Shiva, requesting him to free us from disease, bondage, ignorance and attachment, and bless us with liberation and enlightenment. The full benefits of this mantra are enumerated in the "Benefits" section below.

O Great Three Eyed Lord of All Worlds. You are the sweet fragrance of life. You are the creator and sustainer. Free us from the terrible diseases of ignorance, attachment and weakness. Deliver us from the cycle of birth and death to freedom and ultimate liberation.

i would like to know more about kamah gayatri mantra if u can help i tried to search it still i find two variations, i dont know how to chant them, can u help please?
and i have another question when writing a mantra do i have to say it in my mind , do i have to be perfectly aware? is it better to write a mantra then chant it?

I tried to save the Mrityunjya Mantra to my computer. Tried Save Target As… AS there is no Save link, But I could hear it only once, whereas you have written that it is repeated 108 times. Any problem with how I am downloading???

For protection from negative forces you can call on Chamundayei(a form of durga) for help. This mantra is powerful and works well.

You can also do a google search on this mantra and get related information. My advise is this: have your friend start chanting this mantra at least 20 minutes a day(or as much as possible is best). And also, he should remove himself from being around people who are trying to harm him. hi,
I discovered this site while desperately searching for a solution to one of my biggest preocupation these last months.
it’s 1 1/2 yrs since we got married, had various family and relational problems with the in laws and families.
And the situation went better when i got diagnosed with endometriosis and operated for a fibroid in december.
In march, we decided to have a baby because of the endo. I don’t have much time.
I must do something, wanted to know how perform a personal prayer to lord shiva .

You can try neck rolls and shoulder stands and Anmol will be uploading a throat chakra set in the future so be on the look out for that.

If you are going to be using the mantra for meditation then early morning is always the best time.
Otherwise mantras can be used at any time of the day.
