Readers Experiences Just from Reading Spiritual Books:
Mahesh Says:
I got and read some books regarding enlightenment. Now I feel same like Anmol. I did not do even a continuous meditation. I got kundalini pressure in my spine too. I got only love, all other are same like before. Happiness but no reason. I have told to my wife.
You know, I feel more happy and I never felt before.
My question is: “is it possible to have the awakening without any effort?” Because I never tried or wanted that. I even never heard of Kundalini. Only thing which I think might have contributed to it was resigning from my job (from World Health Organization) and sitting at home and reading Bhagawat Gita. Though I don’t know whether I did that consciously. It was very unlike me.
Stewart says:
Anyway after my friend left, for about the next two weeks i started reading my bible and borrowed an old cassette tape with songs on… On a sunny day in April 1994, i was walking throw a park listening to this tape, the song was ”Breath of God Breathe on Me” as i listened to this acappella song and the harmony unity in all the singing, something inside me broke, gave up, i started crying and as i did i was suddenly overwhelmed with this amazing love, heat, and i felt something travel up through and out of top of my head. For the next 3 weeks or so, i felt this burning ball of energy in my navel/stomach area, and was in love with everything, i mean a deep divine love and i felt so pure.
Nyporter says:
(I get) Intense pressure/energy in crown head area when in temples/religious places and reading religious scriptures.

Personally, I liked The Quest of the Sparrows by Kartik Sharma, published by Rupa Publications the best. I found it much better than Celestine Prophecy and The Alchemist.
Bought my copy from Amazon

The most amazing book out is the True Dynamics of Life by international leader in personal development, Mike Robinson. Mike has been helping people see the truth for themselves for many years. Mike tells it like it is and shows us the truth of why we are here and what we can do to get out of this chaos. WE are at the heart of change but we have to get beyond our conditioning and learnt beliefs in order to end the chaos. If you read the book it will change your life, that’s a given.

Great list. Going to check out Krishnamurti’s books soon.
Ishmael, by Daniel Quinn, is really what started me down my spiritual quest. It’s not directly about spirituality as it is how our culture came to be the way it is today, but there are obvious spiritual parallels to it that I found beyond profound. It is truly the most mind-blowing book I have ever read. I highly suggest everyone pick up a copy at some point soon; I really couldn’t recommend it more highly.
Here’s a wikipedia article.

Hi all,
First of all thanks for all the suggested books and articles. I am writing this comment here particularly addressing Steve’s comment above. I finished reading Tom Chalko’s ebook “The Freedom of Choice” and i would like to say that the message and experience the author is delivering is direct to the point and its quite amazing. I’am really AMAZED with the fact that the author shared and described his experience when he encountered the HIGHER SELF “THE LIGHT”. I have gone through very similar experience and as mentioned by the author and it also kept me in confuse state after my meditation sessions.
I’ll quote the passage (pg 74) from the book:
“The second characteristic thing is that you are not able to remember any details when you come back and recover from the bliss. Recovering details takes days, weeks, months, years or even a lifetime of thinking and intensive conscious study after your encounters with your Higher Self.
It seems that all details are purposely “erased” from your memory. You remember only a “summary” of the encounter. For example – you remember the fact, that you had no questions – simply because everything was crystal clear to you, but you do not remember any particular answers.
This selective “memory loss” during my experiences with The Light puzzled me for many years. No teacher could explain it to my satisfaction. However, as for everything in the Consciously Designed Universe, there had to be a reason for it. The only source that guided me to a logical explanation was the reference [1].”
Now comes to the interesting part, where reference [1] is actually linked to another e-book called the “Thiaoouba Prophecy” witten by Michel Desmarquet about he being abducted by powerful spiritual beings from the 9th planet. It was a “roller coaster ride” experience reading the book and in summary, i would say that the message delivered was very enlightning and spiritual. It’s up to you to believe the author whether he is telling the truth or cooking up stories based on his imagination. But one thing i can say is, the Spiritual message delivered is cannot be a work of imagination.
To all readers, i hope you could read both books and share your experience with the rest. Thanks again to Steve for sharing this information.
Anmol, I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
love,
KJ

This free e-book by Dr. Tom Chalko has changed my life in the spiritual perspective. The author wrote this book during his 5th week of fasting based on years of meditation experience. Read it and enjoy it!
