Zen Teaching of Emptiness (Shunya)

Zen Teaching of Nothingness

There are no rules when it comes to Enlightenment, but what I have noticed is that awareness shifts out of Duality and into infinite Reality more so during quiet moments when the mind is not heavily occupied with daily activity.  It was just such a scenario that led to the shift which took place most unexpectedly last night.

Yesterday was our seventh wedding anniversary and miraculously we manged to get the kids to bed early, so we could enjoy some private celebrations, as all happy couples ought to on such special occasions.  Eventually, the evening wound down and I found myself with the opportunity to practice my nightly meditation, which I do in bed prior to going to sleep every night.

3 Practical Tips for Enlightenment Experiences

Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

The vast majority of humans go through life without ever experiencing Reality beyond what the ordinary dualistic mind projects.  Bound tightly by the ego-centric mind, they live their entire life stuck in mediocrity, mostly struggling for this or that, while experiencing a few fleeting joys.  One of the things that I hope to accomplish on this website, is awaken in you a passion for the Supreme, for the highest, and to that end, I think having an enlightenment experience or two can go a long way.

Explosive Kundalini Rising In Yoga Class Today
Kundalini Yoga & Meditation Classes Series

As I looked around in class today I noticed the students were all experienced with Kundalini Yoga.  Although from a Yogic perspective the few months they have been learning and practicing Kundalini Yoga is not much, given the power of this system, I know it is not insignificant either.  What this allowed, of course, was for me to take the class up a notch in terms of level and difficulty.  I also know that many of these now experienced students actually relish the challenge of more advanced Kundalini Yoga Kriyas, so this was the perfect chance to teach them that.

The Day When My Identification With Anmol Mehta Snapped
Anmol’s Journal: Enlightenment Experiences

Last Wednesday was a day ruled by dark clouds.  It was early morning here on the East Coast and I had settled into the early bus on my way to work.  I try to get a window seat if possible, as I love watching the world go by, even if it’s not a great mountain range or an endless blue ocean.  My little desire was fulfilled and soon I found myself staring in awe at the morning which looked like night.

My Time at an Osho Retreat When My Body Disappeared:
Art of Meditation: Enlightenment Experiences: Osho’s Guided Meditations

There is a wonderful Osho (Bagwan Shree Rajneesh) retreat that takes place here in upstate New York, it is one that I have, unfortunately, only been able to attend once, but what an experience that was!  I am not a "sannyas", meaning someone who has formally joined his organization, but I do find his books very inspiring and insightful.  In fact one of the first books I read was "The Alpha and the Omega", which really propelled me onto this path of meditation and yoga.  After that I discovered Jiddu Krishnamurti’s "Network of Thought" and then there was no turning back — I had reached terminal velocity and was well past the point of no return.
