So now we come to today’s article, which is a testimonial to the power of mindful living and meditation, and how it helped in even treating cancer. The personal journey below, is full of insights into how to use meditation and mindful living to help the body heal and cure itself of any disease or illness.
In my Online Meditation Teacher’s Training exam, I have a question which asks, "How has meditation affected your life?" Recently one of the students, who completed the program and is now a certified Mastery of Meditation teacher, gave the following response, which I would like to share with you below. Her name is Edit, and she was undergoing treatment for cancer and this is her story of how meditation helped her cure cancer and recover fully.

How Meditation Helped with Cancer Treatment Naturally
I thank the stars that I found meditation, and I must admit that it came to me in a very unusual way. I had just started Chemotherapy and of course the body was just hanging on by a thread. So as I was weak and unable to go at a so called normal pace, I noticed that my body would take me into my room to sleep, then my body would take me into my room to ‘stop’ and just rest as my mind in time became still, I started to get better. The thing was I had to have chemotherapy and radiology, but I decided not to take the cancer tablets. I decided to just go with the flow, whatever the body and mind wanted I became just the vessel of feet to get there… And within a year I had healed naturally.
I reduced my stress level by at least 80% naturally.
I listened and stopped talking – becoming aware of surroundings.
I knew that my organs had a voice, and I was to listen.
I started to go to my room to meditate everyday, and recharging my body.
I learned that I had addictions and sabotages in my meditations.
I became focused and started to change what’s known as normal patterns that are actually bad life patterns.
I lost the anger and became free – my mind was also free because I have nothing to tell it other than ‘love’.
I still have comfort eating as my last addiction, and I know this is my last addiction as I have acknowledged it, and I’m happily going about my business to fix it, without any drama, stigma, anger, selflessness involved. And that awareness of life is priceless So meditation has extended my life and given me new life, with the desire to learn more and help others more, and to change the boundaries to say; We are only the shell of our existence and we can continue developing our strength and breath as long as we want to….
Curing Cancer Naturally:
In the article, The Key to Natural Healing, I discussed that the most important aspect of self healing is to listen to the body and go with it, and this is exactly what you can see that Edit did. She became very attentive to her body and what it was telling her. The symptoms and feelings are how the body speaks to you and by listing carefully you can understand what the body is asking you do to help it heal itself.
The body has a blue print of perfect health and will always work towards regaining that state. This is built in to it’s incredible intelligence and it has the capacity to heal itself, even from something like cancer, but you need to work with it to help it do so. Meditation and a meditative mind are keys to doing just this. So Edit discovered that as she listened to her body, it guided her towards resting, meditation and other changes, and these became key factors in helping it cure the cancer.
So no matter what your disease, the first step is to relax, then listen carefully to what the body is requiring of you and then to include meditation into the treatment regime. Such an approach will undoubtedly help your body heal and cure itself.
