Welcome to the October 14, 2007 edition of the Meditation, Yoga and Spiritual Growth Carnival. This is our eighth Meditation, Yoga and Spiritual Growth Carnival and thanks to everyone who participated.
The edition has received 40 plus entries and there are a wide array of fantastic articles below. These range from topics including Brain Health, Law of Attraction, Starting Meditation to Love, Joy, Happiness & God. I am sure, readers and authors will find this collection interesting, inspiring, useful and enjoyable.
I ask the authors to please link back to this carnival from your Blog as well as submit the carnival to your favorite social bookmarking sites. This will help others gain value from it, as well as give the collection more exposure. In addition, please only submit 1 article per blog so we can keep the number of entries to a manageable number.
Since the number of entries is getting quite high, I am switching this carnival back to bi-weekly so each article can get more focus. Also, we are a little light on the Yoga category, so if you blog about Yoga I would love to include your work in these carnivals. Enjoy!!

Tupelo Kenyon presents Make Assumptions Obsolete by Communicating posted at Tupelo Kenyon, saying, “We assume because we don’t know. We don’t know because we don’t ask. We don’t ask because we act as if we already know. Or, we don’t want to appear stupid. So we make an assumption. Then we forget it is merely something we made up, and we behave as if it’s a fact. When the facts are known, it would never occur to us to assume. The solution is clear communication. When we know the truth, assumptions are forever unnecessary. I can’t say it was easy; in fact, some of life’s events are downright painful! However, I reached a point where I needed to choose how I was going to perceive the world and how I wanted to live in it. This is where gratitude comes in. Yes, it takes work, discipline, awareness and focus, but the payoff is worth it. Individuals are embracing many ways to get on the “gratitude train”.”

We become attached to our particular way of doing things. The trouble comes when we cling to an old method that we have outgrown. We feel bogged down and then stuck when our personal development potential is being limited by an outdated method. If your method feels more like a crutch than a tool, it’s time to take an objective look at it. Is the method in question bringing you peace and joy? Is it helping your personal growth, or is it just a familiar and comfortable habit of thought? When it comes to your emotions the virtual world of your mind can be more real. Because the use of the word Love is so pervasive in Hollywood, psychology and everyday use, it is used in many cases in contexts which does not imply this. While true, this implies of course there is a distinction between loving yourself and loving another. There is no difference.
