Survey: Which Type of Alternative Medicine is the Best?

Alternative Medicine Comparison

Types of Alternative Medicine

(Results have been posted for this survey here: Best Alternative Medicine Practices).

Undoubtedly the recent explosion of alternative medicine practices and natural healing systems has been a great blessing for all those seeking holistic health care alternatives to traditional western medicine. I am sure alternative medicine has cured millions of patients and helped millions more as preventive medicine to maintain and improve their health. The problem, of course, is that given that there are now so many types of holistic healing, it is hard to decide which one to turn to in order to deal with our health problems. Thus this survey!

Idealistically, it would be great to run a survey and find out for which specific ailments, which holistic systems have been effective, and although we might try such an ambitious survey sometime in the future, I think just finding out which practice has worked for others, will be valuable knowledge when deciding which type to use. So below please select which alternative medicine practice(s) you have used that have successfully healed or helped you improve your health. You can select more than one answer as well.

Alternative Medicine is the Best

Yoga Therapy below includes meditation & pranayama.  If you select “Other”, please leave a comment with details.  Also, if you can in the comment section give some details about your ailment which was cured or helped by the holistic practice, that would be priceless information for others as well.

Please do participate, all answers are anonymous of course.  If you receive my posts via email, you may have to visit the website in order to submit your response, as the script may not work in via email.

Call me biased, but I believe the modern techniques of biofeedback can be very effective at treating a wide range of common ailments. Hooked up to a biofeedback machine, one can observe, in real-time, what their body is doing and how to make positive change to its functions.

I spent over two decades being sick with an upper respiratory infection of some kind. I always seemed to have this recurring case of pneumonia, bronchitis, earaches, sore throat, laryngitis, clogged sinuses and all the symptoms which go with those. I spent decades trying to get rid of it through conventional medicine but it just kept getting worse and worse. Many of my long-standing friends usually joked with me if I could actually talk, and they could hear me. It was a novelty, especially during the winter months.

I was always so weak, sick and just exhausted. People hated to be around me because I coughed continually (and it was obvious I was trying to cough up phlegm and anything else I had in there). I just got tired of the doctors, the antibiotics, the increasing strengths of the prescriptions, the side effects and the waste of time and money trying to find help. I started reading myself and found homeopathy. It took some time, trial and error and total lack of belief that this was ever going to be any better than anything else I had tried, but eventually I did see a difference. I could actually tell I was getting better.
Today I very seldom have a relapse. If I notice the symptoms, I know what to do and what to reach for to stop it before it sets in. I have always thought homeopathy probably saved my life because I was up to almost the entire year, every year, being very sick and each winter season I could tell it was worse than the last. Now, about a decade later with homeopathy, I actually very seldom even catch a winter cold anymore.

I don’t think you can say one is better than the other. They are all wonderful additions to self care. I personally use a form of energy healing that involves a tool called the AmWand. I wouldn’t say it is better than any other alternative medicine but it is a great tool.

The one that works. Challenges can ocurr at many different levels of being. Ideally you would use the approach that best suits that level for you. If you are unable to identify that level approach it from all levels, spiritual, mental, emotional and physical then as you heal back off gradually and often you can identify the correct level or levels.

EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques, is the tool for me. But my wife works with Kinesiology and within that Transformational Kinesiology. Tapping on energy meridian points is the fastest way to clear things for good in my opinion.

Hi Anmol. Thanks for posting this.
Actually Therapy and massage makes you relaxed and comfortable after working. This is the best medicine for your body. Such as eating good vegetables and fruits re leave your stress and give your buddy more resistance.
