Free Online Yoga Breathing Techniques

Hatha and Kundalini Yoga Pranayamas

Welcome to the Online Yoga  Pranayama E-Book.  Pranayamas are breathing exercises for expanding, purifying and optimizing your entire mind-body-spirit complex.  It is the science of breath control.

This book will explain and detail the best pranayamas and breathing techniques from the different branches of Yoga (Kundalini, Hatha, Raja, etc.) and other schools of breath control.  The breathing techniques from this book will be part of the Online Meditation and Kundalini Yoga Classes, that are hosted here on the Mastery of Meditation website, but these exercises can, of course, also be used by you in your own daily yoga, meditation or fitness practice.  The layout of the book is simple.

Yogic breathing has been shown to have a wide range of benefits and is a powerful instrument for transforming health, healing and transforming your life.  Recent research has validated the enormous value this science can bring to your life, so please explore the techniques below and make them a part of your daily sadhana.

Each chapter will provide one important yoga breathing exercise and will be written such that to practice that particular pranayama you only need to read that chapter.

For each technique, the following information is provided:

  • Background of the breath control technique.
  • Any tools or other requirements in order to practice it.
  • Primary and secondary benefits.
  • Any cautions for practicing the particular pranayama.  Please follow these carefully.
  • Beginner’s variation.
  • Intermediate variation.
  • Step-by-step instructions on how to do the advanced versions.
  • Some chapters have video instruction, in addition to illustrations.
  • Any hidden secrets about the breathing technique.

The first few chapters of this book will focus on the most important yoga pranayama exercises.  These techniques are those that are generally an integral part of a daily yoga, meditation or fitness practice.  Later, I will move onto some of the more uncommon, though not necessarily less powerful, exercises.

Hi all, I’m just discovering pranayama thanks to this great web page, I’m experiencing excellent and instant benefits, I feel an urge to throw myself into all the different practises but I’m also aware of the caution to not do too much too soon, I’m seeking a little guidance on “how much” “how often” and if all types can be performed in a single day etc

    Hello Sir,
please guide me with clear instructions as to which Pranayama helps me in getting my left leg ?& left hand to normal condition, which, in fact my entire feminine portion of body was paralyzed since 25 years and as on date my left leg though working & was able to walk independently ( even i am bi-cycling) no normal functioning ie., entire leg is moving like a single bone from hip to foot & thereby uneven walking/limping while walking alone(while by-cycling or claimbing stair case easy & normal bending & stretching at kneecap point + foot ankle exists but while walking that kneecap/foot ankle friction does not takes place. After long duration of 25 years of using leg with this improper (limping) walking, off late feeling pain in knee cap + lower back pain.
coming to left hand fingers absolutely no moment (even to close at hard or open slightly) right from beginning, thus hand is not at all in use. Managing only with one right hand al my day to day works. Wrist was not dropped. moment at shoulder, elbow exists, but little hard(spasm)
Sensation exists right from beginning in entire feminine portion of body, Blood circulation to limbs was normal, thus limbs did not became weak & thin/lean.
Awaiting for your able guidance, better with video learning to email id .directly.

    With Warm Regards,
    Sreenivasaa Murthy. D

thanks for the great breathing techniques. But there are so many choices. How should a meditation practitioner pick as it’s impossible to do them all before the real meditation.
