Meditation Certification Program Syllabus and Details
Welcome to the Mastery of Meditation Teacher's Training Program. This page will give you all the details regarding how the course works and how to go about completing the program.
If you have already registered for the training program and have downloaded the additional documents, you may begin the program by following the syllabus below as soon as you are ready.
This certification course is a multi-media rich home study course. The material needed for study and practice is in the form of articles, videos and MP3s that are online on this website, and additional documents which you will receive when you register.
In order to complete the course you follow the 8 week program below. At the completion of the program, you email me to receive the final examination, which you must pass by a score of 80% in order to receive your certification. If you fail the exam, you must take it again till you pass.
How the program works is that every week you have certain articles you must study and certain techniques you must practice. Below is the 8 week course in detail. How the Program Works:
As I mentioned the training program is designed for 8 weeks. Below is how it all works.
- For each week, certain objectives are set. These are listed below as Knowledge objectives, things you must learn, and Techniques objectives, which are methods you must practice.
- The objectives are met via a weekly study section and a practice section. The study section comprises of articles you need to read and study for that week, and the practice section has the techniques you must practice.
- The practice section has a Pranayama (Breathing) Section, a Gentle Yoga Section and a Meditation Section. You need to practice these daily. I have given approximate times for each section, but this is a soft number. You may take a little more or little less time than the one suggested depending on your capacity and level.
- The approximate time for the study and practice sessions is 1-2 hours per day, depending on your previous knowledge and skill level.
- For each week there are also Optional Readings and Techniques listed. These will enhance your understanding, but are not required for certification. In other words, the examination will only test you on the Required material and not the Optional material.
- When you have completed your program, please e-mail me and you will receive your final exam, which you must pass as I mentioned above.

- Basic Yoga Poses: Poses 1-8 are the necessary ones for a gentle yoga class although if you have a younger stronger class you can do poses 9-12 as well. As a teacher though I think you should practice the entire set daily for week 2.

That concludes the 8 weeks for the program. Again, you can take longer if you wish, and note that you will not be tested on the "Optional Readings and Techniques."
