Detox Diet Mistakes | Detoxification Program Part 1
Detox Diet Mistakes
Detoxification Program Guidelines
There are many types of detox diets out there. Raw vegetable diets, detox fruit diets, liquid detox diets, lemon detox diets, vegan detox diets, etc, etc, but the first step in detoxifying your body is learning how not to create toxins in the first place . So in the first part of this this new Detox Your Body series, I would like to start by first pointing out one of the most common ways we end up creating toxins in our system. This common mistake is by combining incompatible foods in our diet.
Incompatible foods create all sorts of digestive problems for us. These include general abdominal discomfort, acidity, bloating, heartburn and gas, to name just a few. Mixing these wrong food types together repeatedly results in the diminishing of the digestive fire, which sets the stage for the accumulation of undigested food mass (ama) and the accumulation of those dreaded toxins. This then is the beginning of the disease process and soon we find ourselves in a toxic overload, searching the web for the best detox program around .
So, if you are interested in maintaining a healthy digestive system and are keen on preventing toxin buildup, Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of healing and longevity, strongly discourages the mixing of the foods below. This should be the first step of any detoxification program. Understanding that mixing these foods together is absolutely counterproductive and must be stopped if detox efforts are to be successfully.
If you are new to Ayurveda, the following article will be very helpful to you: Introduction to Ayurveda | Alternative Medicine for Self Healing. In addition, the following Healthy Eating Guide, will give you very good tips for how to eat in order to avoid the buildup of toxins in your system. Finally, I want to point out a powerful breathing technique which is excellent for helping you detoxify your entire system, and you will find details of that in the article, Cleanse & Detox Your System with Powerful Yoga. Here now is the list of dietary guidelines for preventing toxin buildup due to incompatible foods.

Detox Diet Mistakes | Detoxification Program Part 1 Summary
So above is the first step to beginning a good detox program. Stop making things worse by mixing the wrong kind of foods. This will in itself do the one thing that is most important to living free of toxins, which is strengthening and improving your digestive fire. A strong digestive fire is key for the proper and complete digestion of food, thus preventing both, the buildup of toxins, as well as the buildup of undigested food mass. And, as mentioned earlier, these 2 bad boys are the ones primarily responsible for the onset of diseases and sicknesses.
In the next part of this series we will continue to explore detox diets and detox techniques with which to cleanse our body, and thus reap the great benefits of vibrant energy, good health and long life.
Hello Anmol,
I am looking forward to getting your reply on my queries. Please let me know then. Thanks.

Hello Anmol,
This is a very informative list of incompatible food items however I was wondering if yoghurt is incompatible with paneer as well since my mom makes paneer kadhi with yoghurt? Also is milk incompatible with other grains like semolina, wheat, rava etc because I see there are a number of Indian desserts made with grains and milk?
Regarding fruits and other items are they incompatible with milk and yoghurt like mango with milkshake or other fruits used in milkshakes and ice creams or yoghurt bars. Is it a bad food combination? Please let me know and a great website.
Thanks.
Jyotsna
Anything to say about nuts? Also I noticed that fruits are shown as incompatible with all other foods, however some foods have particular fruits listed as being incompatible with them. Why? Anyway, thanks! Very helpful!
This system of regulating food intake for proper detoxification is great, but could be hard to remember. Perhaps a chart would alleviate this problem. Thanx for the article. : )
Thanks so much Anmol. I’ve often wondered how come when I ordered a garden salad at some Indian restaurant it came without dressing. I’ll keep this in mind as I work on re-conditioning my habit.
Dear Masi,
This is a list of incompatible foods as per Ayurveda. Not just for detox. These combinations should be avoided in your diet in general, else they can lead to toxicity and digestive issues.
Glad you are enjoying the website, thanks for the positive feedback.
Best,
Anmol
Dear Ra,
Currently on the website is a good technique for discharging these toxins from the system (especially from the lungs and deep in the tissue).
It is Panting Dog Breath of Fire. Really very powerful detox exercise.
Best,
Anmol
Dear Anmol,
I’m still hoping that you will respond to my question above regarding the lemon combination with cucumber and tomato.
Hello Anmol,
I am wondering if this list is specifically for detox purposes specifically or is it diet mistakes in general? I usually have my salad, which includes cucumber and tomato, with lemon and olive oil. So, I’m wondering if this is not a recommended food combination according to ayurvedic or is it just for Detoxification guidelines?
On another note, thanks for sharing your information :) I stumbled across your site, and have been enjoying your articles for the past couple months now.
Dear Anmol
Best food-combining chart i have ever seen!
Thank you!
May i also ask if there are Kriyas for ridding the system of Kidney stones, Gall stones, metal dust and refuse that settle at the bottoms of the lungs and parasites from every part of the body?
Much Peace
Hi,
Yes don’t heat honey or cook with it. It can be used in warm liquid, heated to the point where the liquid is till drinkable (don’t have to sip). Otherwise it creates toxins in your system.
Best,
Anmol
i did not really get that part with honey. u mean u can not even use it in hot tea? or heat it up when it is crystalized?
great work Anmol. Thanks a lot
