I just saw your You Tube clip on Aum Meditation – Very good. Just one comment about your mis-pronounciation of the word for the sixth chakra- It is आज्ञा, Ājña, [aːɟɲʌ], meaning ‘command’ or ‘summoning’.
Thousands of viewers are watching your youtube clips. My request to you will be to please pronounce the word correctly. Please look up the word in any Sanskrit dictionary.

Just writing to say that I have answered my own questions. :)
As far as when my “stuff” is coming up, I can just observe and acknowledge what’s coming up. I don’t have to act on my emotions, I don’t have to do anything. Like the thoughts and things that come up in meditation, I can just be a witness to what is happening. I can be aware without getting drawn in.
I think the nightmares are my repressed anger coming to the surface. Although I walk around with a smile practically pasted on my face and am always just so nice and polite, just below the surface is simmering irritability and dissatisfaction.
So, I carry on.
Still enjoying the site very much. So much to explore.

Whenever I start to get a regular meditation practice going (20 minutes every day) all my “stuff” comes up. I know that it is normal for my issues to come up, but I sure seem to have a lot of them. It is emotional, uncomfortable and I feel like a crazy woman. (Kundalini scares me and I definitely don’t want any of that, haha.)
Also, I get terrible nightmares that I never have otherwise.
These cause me to stop meditating every time. I have not been able to find any information to my satisfaction on the internet, especially about the nightmares. Do I need to just power on through, or just reduce my meditation time? 20 minutes is not overdoing it, is it? :)
If you have any advice for me or can shed any light on why I get nightmares I would be grateful. I have started meditating again and I’m sure these same issues are going to come up.

I do Kundalini yoga for already 6 months and really Sodarshan Chakra Kriya as it is not of this world, there are no obstacles for this exercise, not even the common cold :). Thank you for teaching this. I really became interested in yoga, so I learned a practice known as Maha Mudra Kunchun mudra.I would like to include this exercise in my practice, but I do not know much about it, can you help me.

I have just come accross your very useful and helpful website.
I was just wondering whether you could give me a bit of advice.
I have been practising Kundalini Yoga for the last year and a half now. Over the last 4 months I have been having the strangest experiences that last all day, everyday.
Basically I keep having very strong visions of a certain memory, place in my head. Howver these visions dont just come into my head and then go they stick with me for weeks so that I get to the point that I can only think about them and then I feel as if I have been transported back to that place and I am not in the current moment.
I am managing to deal with these feelings now but they do desperately worry me.
I am not sure if this is anything to do with something being released.
About a year ago after a certain class to unblock any blockages of trapped emotion through various tapping techniques the first time I had any of these funny feelings and began with terrible panic attacks and anxiety which has now subsided but I am left with these annoying visions.

Actually I got a quick question. I got problem with my backpain. So, I can’t meditate sitting for long time. I use my chair, but can’t do it for long. I have tried laying down, but that led be to feel asleep. Can I meditate standing?

To answer you questions:
Is it advisable to read about different types of meditation or to try them, or is it better to stick to what suits you, and not read about other kinds, to avoid distraction?
YES – it is okay to read about other types of meditations and you can try them to see which suits you but it is advisable to stick to one kind (that suits you) to reap the benefits of Meditation as a whole.
Does practising some of type meditation only once or twice give any benefits?
Meditation is something that should be a part of ones daily practice if one is to reap the benefit.

Yes it is okay – as long as you do the meditation slowly and listen to your body – also do physical yoga along with the Ajna Chakra Meditation.
Though having a teacher to guide is always better. But, follow the guidelines laid out in the Beginner’s Guide to Yoga article and 10 Important Guidelines for Kundalini Yoga. Remember to follow your inner voice and listen to your body.

i am 30 year old men was having lipoma on spinal cord at L5 & 51 area it was completely remove in the year sept 2008 but because of lipoma my left leg upper limb part senation is not there and left leg is thin as compare to right leg with that it also affect my bowel & bladder i dont have control on bowel & bladder daily bed wetting in night occurs & urine is coming out but at very slow force & bladder can not empty completely. pls suggest yoga.
